Original Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 Board (A000067)

Rev3 is the latest version of the top microcontroller board from Arduino. It is based on the powerful ATmega2560 chip operating at 16 MHz. It has 54 digital input/output pins, 14 of which can be used as PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) outputs, 16 analog inputs, 4(!) hardware serial ports (UART) for communication with computers and other devices, a USB connector, an external power connector, an ICSP header, and a Reset button. The new Rev3 version includes the Atmega16U2 chip (in Rev1 and Rev2 versions Atmega8U2 was used) with firmware for the "USB-Serial port" converter, instead of the FTDI chips used in earlier versions, which allows for faster data transfer speed.
