Description

The solid-state SSD drive Plextor PX-256M5P is based on non-volatile NAND flash memory, which has multi-level cells (MLC). Each cell is capable of storing multiple bits of information.

To increase the reliability and ensure stable operation of the drive, the manufacturer uses Instant Restore technology. Thanks to this, even after prolonged use of the SSD drive, the read and write speed remains at the declared level. After installing this device in a laptop or PC, the boot speed of the operating system, processing of text and graphics files, as well as game startup, will be significantly accelerated.

To extend the lifespan of the memory cells, progressive technology called Dynamic Wear Leveling is used. It is also worth noting the hardware support for TRIM technology, which cleans the cells, stabilizing the overall performance of the drive. Taking into account all these technologies, the mean time to failure is a staggering 2.4 million hours.
